2. Information we collect
Most of the information we hold is information you have given us yourself, usually when you get in touch. A small amount is collected automatically when you visit the website. It may include:
- information submitted through forms on this website
- your name
- your email address
- your company or organisation
- your telephone number, where you choose to provide it
- the information you include in an enquiry or message
- basic website usage and technical information, such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and approximate location based on your IP address
- cookie and analytics information, where those cookies are in use
We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and we would ask you not to include any in an enquiry.
3. How we use information
We use personal information for ordinary business purposes, namely:
- responding to enquiries and questions
- providing the services you have asked us for
- managing our relationships with customers and prospective customers
- operating, maintaining and improving this website
- keeping our website and systems secure
- meeting our legal, regulatory and accounting obligations
4. Legal basis for processing
Under UK data protection law we need a legal basis for processing personal information. Depending on the circumstances, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Consent: where you have opted in, for example to optional cookies or to material you have asked to receive. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contractual necessity: where processing is needed to agree or deliver a piece of work for you or your organisation.
- Legitimate interests: where processing is needed to run and promote the business, to reply to an enquiry you have sent us, or to keep the website secure, and your interests and rights do not override those interests.
- Legal obligation: where we have to process or keep information to comply with the law.
5. How information is shared
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for other organisations’ marketing.
We do use trusted technology and service providers to run the business and this website, and information may be shared with them where that is necessary for them to provide the service. This website is built and hosted on the HubSpot platform, and enquiries submitted through it are held in our HubSpot CRM. Providers act on our instructions and are subject to appropriate contractual safeguards.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for, including any legal, accounting or contractual requirement to retain it. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are reviewed periodically and deleted once there is no longer a reason to keep them.
7. Your rights
You have rights over the personal information we hold about you. Depending on the circumstances, these include the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete information we no longer have a reason to keep
- ask us to restrict how we use your information
- object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests
- ask us to transfer information to another provider, where that right applies
- withdraw your consent, where our processing relies on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@datatechs.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would ask you to raise it with us first so we have the chance to put it right.
8. Cookies
This website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work. For example to deliver pages, keep the site secure and remember your cookie choices. Where analytics or other optional cookies are enabled, they are set only if you have consented to them.
You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time using the cookie controls on this website, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we expect the same of the providers we work with. No website or method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so while we take these measures seriously they cannot be treated as a guarantee.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website, to our services or to legal requirements. The ‘last updated’ date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed in any significant way.
11. Contact
For any question about this policy, or about the personal information we hold, contact us at hello@datatechs.co.uk.
